Read the abstract
The aim of this study is to examine the relationship between early maladaptive schemas and resilience and coping skills in adults. The sample consists of 324 adults living in Istanbul, 186 women and 138 men. A Personal Information Form, the Young Schema Questionnaire, the Resilience Scale for Adults and the Ways of Coping with Stress Scale were used as data collection tools. According to the findings, there is a significant relationship between early maladaptive schemas and resilience and coping skills; resilience and coping skills are also significantly related to each other. Early maladaptive schemas have a predictive effect on resilience and coping skills. The variables differ significantly according to gender, age, income, employment and education status.
